This week, markets are eyeing US-China talks to end their ongoing trade war, which will hurt global economic growth. Also on trade, EU officials will meet with their US counterparts, as well as continuing talks with Mexico on NAFTA.

The most important economic events this week are:

Jackson Hole Summit

The annual meeting of top central bankers and economists, hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas, is scheduled to be held from Thursday to Saturday and Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will deliver a speech entitled "Monetary Policy in a Changing Economy."

FOMC Meeting Minutes

The Federal Reserve will release the results of the FOMC meeting. The Federal Reserve has kept interest rates unchanged at its last meeting and is expected to raise them twice in the rest of the year.

Minutes of the ECB meeting

The minutes of the ECB's latest meeting, which has kept its policy unchanged, will also be released. The bank aims to end the bond purchase program by the end of this year and has indicated that it is likely to start raising rates next year.

RBA Meeting Minutes

The Reserve Bank of Australia's latest meeting, which kept interest rates unchanged for more than two years at 1.50%, will also be released.
