The Sterling is currently near its 7-week lows at 1.3793, ahead of the expected speech of Prime Minister Theresa May to talk about the EU's trade agreement plans.

The pound has suffered over the past few days after raising fears that Britain may not get the transition period after leaving EU by March 2019, after European chief negotiator Michel Barnier indicated that this option would not be guaranteed.

On the other hand, the Japanese yen jumped more than 0.5% against the US dollar following the announcement by the United States of imposing a new tariff on steel imports and the possibility of a global trade war, especially after the Trump tweet in which he said that the war is good and easy to win when the United States loses billions of dollars.

The governor of the Bank of Japan said that easing monetary policy would be considered if inflation reached the target in 2020. Inflation has been rising since the beginning of last year as the core consumer price index stabilized at its highest level in more than two years.
