The New Zealand dollar fell to a 2-1 / 2 year low against the US dollar at 0.6640 as the Reserve Bank of New Zealand unexpectedly confirmed that interest rates would remain low until 2020, given economic activity disappointing.

The US dollar rose against most major currencies, as markets bet that the trade war and the US economy will continue to support the dollar. The dollar index hit its daily high of 95.35 before easing slightly after the US producer price data came in below expectations.

The pound continued to slide to settle at lowest level over a year of 1.2840 amid fears that Britain would leave the EU without a trade deal
