Theresa May sees US tariffs unjustified

British Prime Minister, Theresa May told Donald Trump US President that US tariffs on EU steel and aluminum imports were unjustified and disappointing on telephone. The two sides agreed to discuss the issue further at the G7 summit in Canada later this week.

Trump angered members of the European Union, Canada and Mexico by imposing a 25 percent tariff on steel and 10 percent on aluminum, ending uncertainty about potential exemptions. Liam Fox, Britain's trade minister, warned yesterday that increased protectionism could escalate into a global trade disaster.
