Winston Peters, New Zealand first leader, made the following statement:
- No decision has yet been taken on either side's support.
- There is a serious consensus on policy work but not on final outcome.
- There is still a need for further discussions with the Labor Party and the National party.
- The members of the New Zealand first party returned home after two days of meetings.
- The party board members spent two days discussing and preparing for a final decision.
- The work of the board has ended at this stage but more work needs to be done on differences in accounts and other matters before the final decision is made
